Fire doors for new academy school in Maidstone, Kent
Eat and Drink at the University of Reading
Contractor: Morgan Sindall
Type of works: Supply internal doorsets
Working with main contractor, Morgan Sindall, Ahmarra’s severe duty fire doors were part of the renovations for a revamped bar and eatery on the University of Reading campus.
“Eat and Drink”, formerly the Cotton Club, is situated on the London Road, adjacent to the Museum of English Rural Life. The interior reflects the building's historic function as a dairy, showing off the high glass ceiling and dairy-style lamps hanging from the beams. The design included exposed brick work and tiles, and a fake grass area complete with large cow murals and dairy stools.
In keeping with the natural theme, Ahmarra’s European oak FSC timber doorsets were selected for this project, incorporating BM TRADA Q-Mark certified fire doors.
