Keep Your Fire Doors Safe and Compliant

Ensure your building’s fire doors remain fully operational, safe and compliant with current Building Regulations with our comprehensive fire door inspection and maintenance service. Regular inspections can significantly reduce the risk of loss of life and property, and are a legal requirement for all non-domestic properties, including businesses, commercial premises and public buildings, as well as residential flats and houses of multiple occupancy.

Fire Door Inspection Service

Who can carry out a fire door inspection?

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) 2005 states that a competent person should carry out regular fire door checks. However, a qualified Fire Door Inspector can carry out a much more comprehensive assessment of your doors. We recommend that inspections are carried out by a certified Fire Door Inspector that is approved by a nationally recognised scheme.

Ahmarra’s Fire Protection Association certified inspectors provide a fire door inspection service complete with a comprehensive report.

By selecting an approved inspector, you can be assured that fire door inspections have been carried out by a fully trained and experienced individual to a nationally-recognised industry standard.

What your fire door inspection report will cover

Our experienced inspectors will check every aspect of your fire door – from certification records (if available) and fire ratings to ironmongery and intumescent seals.
Your inspection report will include an analysis of every door within your building, equipping you with the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions about how to keep your doors safe and fully compliant with current Building Regulations.

The assessment will cover each door’s;
– Fire rating
– Leaf configuration
– Leaf & frame finish
– Photos
– Precise location on the floor plan
– Itemised remedial works with order of priority and estimated cost (if required)

If replacement fire doors are required, specification guidance will be provided to ensure new doors meet your building’s fire risk strategy.

Ahmarra can provide fire door inspection services on an ad-hoc basis or regularly on a quarterly, biannual or annual basis. Our ‘right first time’ approach to surveying and data management facilitates rapid lead times.

Fire Door Maintenance Service

Should the inspection report highlight any fire door maintenance requirements, Ahmarra’s engineers can carry out any fire door repairs, maintenance or servicing that has been recommended. This may include replacement of fully compatible components, repair of the door leaf or glazing and re-alignment the door positioning. Once fully restored, you will be issued with certificate of compliance.

Maintenance will ensure that;

  • Fire doors remain compliant with Building Regulations
  • The doors’ fire resistance capabilities are preserved
  • The lifespan of the product is maximised
  • Long-term building costs are reduced, as replacement fire doors are less likely to be required

Carrying out these works will ensure your fire doors keep you safe and remain compliant, whilst supporting your business to meet its specific resilience objectives.
