Ahmarra have donated £200 and a case of Prosecco to Emsworth Community Christmas. A local event run by volunteers, it provides those who would otherwise be on their own on Christmas Day with, as the organiser Jessica Bateman describes, “…a day rich in warm conversation, music, delightful food, presents and of course much love and laughter”. She says, “I am passionate about creating a day where people can be nourished, loved and in an environment that is safe”.

Last year, the event had nearly one hundred guests attend. Now in its fifth year, the team are hoping to reach out to even more vulnerable and isolated people. Emsworth Community Christmas not only provides a memorable day for local people, but gives them the opportunity to form new and lasting friendships.

Hosted at Emsworth Primary School on Victoria Road, this free event will be held on Wednesday 25th December, from 11am until 4pm. Free door-to-door transport is provided, as well as traditional entertainment. If you would like to attend, please book in advance by visiting; www.emsworthcommunitychristmas.com

The event relies solely on the generous donations of supporters. Between now and Christmas, Emsworth Community Christmas are hoping to raise £2,000, which will be spent on employing catering and cleaning staff, as well as lots of fresh food, gifts and decorations. To make a donation, please click here to visit their Just Giving page.

As well as supporting Emsworth Community Christmas, we’re also having our own Christmas Jumper Day where each member of staff will wear their favourite festive knit and make a donation to the food bank. Our donations will be delivered to Pompey in the Community who will distribute to local charities in Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
