Client: Edinburgh Airport
Type of works: Supply of fire doorsets
Ahmarra Door Installations are currently working with Edinburgh Airport to supply a further 30 fire doorsets as part of their £80m expansion project.
Edinburgh Airport is Scotland’s main airport and the UK’s sixth busiest, with approximately 24,000 passengers passing through it every day. With passenger numbers expected to rise to 16.5 million by 2021, there is a need to expand the airport’s capacity. The ten-year project will extend the terminal by 5,000m², providing six additional gates, as well as space for shops and customs & immigration areas.
Construction began on the three-storey extension in August 2017. Ahmarra have already supplied over £500,000 worth of work since then, which has included the manufacture of over 330 specialist doorsets.
The latest internal doorsets are predominantly FD90 fire-rated doors and are all made from sustainably sourced timber. The doorsets will be installed in the terminal’s baggage and departure lounge areas.
Ahmarra specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of doors for airports, having completed over 400 projects at many of the UK’s major airports, including Heathrow and Gatwick. To learn more about our airport installation projects, click here.
