Ahmarra are delighted to announce that we have successfully completed our tri-annual Q-Mark Fire Door Manufacture fire and smoke audit tests to BS EN 1634 standards.
Our third-party certification body, BM TRADA Q-Mark selected an Ahmarra internal front entrance door with a letterbox and door viewer to be smoke audit tested. As the smoke test is non-destructive, Ahmarra elected to additionally fire test this doorset. For the fire test, a Winkhaus glazed, front entrance doorset was selected.
Both doorsets were required to be sample audited by Q-Mark. This requires an auditor to monitor every stage of manufacture, ensuring the documented controlled factory production processes are adhered to and that all components selected exactly match those permitted in the relevant Field of Application.
The tests conducted demonstrated the doors’ ability to resist fire for well over the required 30 minutes. We allowed both doors to burn to destruction, with both lasting over 53 minutes. This is an excellent result for a 44mm FD30s timber doorset with an engineered softwood frame. The smoke test achieved 1.22(m³/hr/m) leakage rate at 25pa, which is significantly under the permitted 3(m³/hr/m).
These FD30s internal entrance doors are also Secured By Design (SBD) approved and had been proven to resist an intruder’s attempts to use stealth to gain entry to PAS 24 test standards.
Thank you to BM TRADA Q-Mark certification and Warringtonfire test centre for your assistance throughout the process, as well as Winkhaus and Halspan for their technical guidance.
