Contractor: Tolent Construction
Client: Apex Hotels
Type of works: Joinery sub-contract
Ahmarra Installations has recently completed a joinery sub-contract for Tolent Construction for the new four-star Apex City of Bath Hotel.
Apex secured this rare site in the centre of Bath and have spent £48.5 million developing a new 177 bedroom hotel with extensive conference and leisure facilities. The project involved demolishing an existing 1960s office building and replacing it with a lower building more in keeping with the surrounding townscape.
The Apex City of Bath Hotel site is situated just five-minute walk from the Thermae Bath Spa. The hotel is Bath’s largest hotel both in terms of conference and events spaces and number of bedrooms.
The hotel’s conference room holds up to 400 delegates, the largest in Bath and the four-star hotel itself has 177 contemporary bedrooms including family rooms, some of which include balconies. All rooms feature walk-in spacious showers, baths and Elemis toiletries. The hotel is fully equipped with leisure facilities including a gym and pool as well as a stylish bar and restaurant.
Ahmarra’s fit out contract encompassed:
Bedroom level doorsets, ironmongery, corridor panelling, wardrobes, bedheads, mirrored vanity units, bath panels, timber flooring, bedroom mirrors, skirtings and window boards.
Reception level doorsets, ironmongery, timber boarded doors and walls, timber flooring, auditorium acoustic panelling, bespoke metals screens, a variety of reception desks, front and rear bars, mirrored vanity units, timber and glass toilet cubicles, perch bars and banquet seating.
“This is our fourth Apex Hotel project and we are very pleased to be associated with such a prestigious hotel group” commented Richard Panrucker, Ahmarra Installation’s Director.
As one of London’s premier joinery contractors, Ahmarra has completed a number of projects for iconic luxury hotels including such brands as InterContinental, Mondrian, Hilton, Apex, Grange, Mandarin Oriental and Sol Melia.
