Ahmarra manufactured fire doors and riser doors for Brunel University London, on behalf of the main contractor. The doors are for communal spaces, research laboratories, offices, meeting & comms rooms and storage areas.
Selected from our Education Door Range, these Q-Mark certified doorsets have an FD30s to FD60s fire rating and up to 40 RwdB acoustic rating. As with all of our Education Range, these pre-hung doorsets were supplied with factory-fitted stainless steel ironmongery, ensuring full compliance.
These contemporary doors are faced with Formica’s stylish Terril (F2297) dark grey high pressure laminate, and feature contrasting American White Oak concealed lippings and cloak beading where the doors have vision panels.
The vision panels are compliant to British Standard 8300, ensuring that they meet the minimum zone of visibility. Vision panels enable staff and students to view what is on the other side of the door and help prevent injury resulting from collision with opening doors.
Designed for durability, doors were manufactured from sustainably sourced FSC® certified timber and have a severe-duty core, are lipped on all four edges for longevity, and feature kick and push plates to protect the door facings.
The university’s corridor doors also feature a slimline swing door automation system, which enables the doors to be opened in one fluid motion by pressing a push pad. Doors were designed with the automation operator in order to maximise accessibility and ease of passage around the university. Selected for its versatile access options, the automation operator can be activated by a key fob, push button, push pad, touch to open pad, touch free sensor, safety sensor and motion sensor.
