Type of works: Supply of doorsets to bedrooms, corridors and main entrance
Ahmarra supply stylish ‘arresting’ doorsets to a luxury London hotel, which was formerly a police section house.
A former 1930’s police section house in Greenwich has been converted into a luxury boutique hotel. Maurice Drummond House was originally built in the 1930s as accommodation for officers from the Metropolitan Police and is now the DoubleTree by Hilton London Greenwich.
The hotel offers affordable luxury over nine floors with 145 spacious bedrooms, a stylish basement restaurant and ground floor bar. Original Terrazzo floors have been carefully restored, timber paneling has been incorporated and elegant chandeliers installed. The colour palette is a simple black, grey, white and cream with fabric wall panels.
Ahmarra Door Solutions were selected to supply luxury hotel doors for the bedrooms and corridors. The doors were FD30 and FD60 fire rated. Faced with American White Oak, the doors were stained to create a Wenge wood veneer effect. Ahmarra also manufactured the hotel’s stunning high gloss, black panelled entrance doors which feature an ornate circle design with bronze door ring knockers.
