Ahmarra have manufactured heavy-duty fire rated doorsets featuring our AhmGuard integrated finger protection solution for Crowthorne Baptist Church in Berkshire.

AhmGuard is an innovation in finger protection with its effective, seamless design and durable metal pivot system. The majority of anti-fingertrap solutions are retro-fit and often unattractive & cumbersome. They work on the premise of covering the gap between the door and frame. AhmGuard, however, is an integral part of the timber doorset design rather than an add-on feature. Its engineered geometry ensure fingers won’t be crushed regardless of whether the person is standing on the opening or closing side of the door. This reduces the risk of harm, which is particularly important in a community setting where children are present.

Main contractor Morris & Blunt selected Ahmarra to supply the doors for this refurbishment and extension project. The objective of the works was to extend the range of facilities available within the Church by creating a larger kitchen area, additional bathrooms, storage and designated areas that can be used for meetings or events.

The client chose a stylish American White Oak wood veneer facing for the flush doors, which achieves a consistent uniform finish and complements the Church’s bright, modernised interior design scheme.
