Type of works: Manufacture of High Security Fire Doors
Our Residential Door Range includes secure internal apartment entrance doorsets that offer dual security and fire certification – providing peace of mind that the people, property and assets within the building are protected from opportunist thieves, vandalism and attack, as well as fire. This high security fire door was designed and manufactured for a sheltered housing complex.
Dual Security & Fire Certification
Certified under the Q-Mark Enhanced Security scheme, the doorset is Secured By Design (SBD) approved and meets PAS 24: 2016 standards. Also certified under the Q-Mark Fire Door Manufacture scheme, it is FD30 fire rated to BS 476 Pt. 22.
Pre-hung Doorset
The entrance doorset was supplied as a complete unit, with all essential components from a single source, to ensure full compliance with Building Regulations. This means that the door leaf was pre-hung in its frame, with fully compatible ironmongery and fire and smoke seals fitted at our factory, making it quicker and easier to install on-site.
Locking System
This severe-duty doorset incorporates a highly secure three point locking system, Euro 3 star rated anti-snap cylinder and lever handles.
The door’s overhead surface mounted closer ensures that the door will close fully by itself. As soon as it closes, the door will automatically lock with two high tensile steel hooks that engage with the heavy duty keeps, preventing the door from being forced apart from its frame. As the handle does not need to be lifted to engage the lock, it is ideal for elderly residents.
Door Viewers
The entrance door features two door viewers (spy holes) at different heights, enabling residents to view visitors whilst at standing height or from a wheelchair, providing a 200° viewing angle. These door viewers have undergone rigorous testing to meet TS002 standards, which covers corrosion resistance, security (angle of vision), visual clarity, resistance to misting up and the ability to clear after misting.
Drop Down Seal
The drop down seal, which is fitted to the bottom edge of the door, automatically drops down when the door closes, forming a secure seal. If a fire door has a gap of more than 10mm along the bottom, its integrity is compromised. The threshold drop seal therefore ensures it can withstand and protect against smoke and flames in the event of a fire.
Decorative Facings
This bespoke door features two looks in one design, as it is faced with a different wood grain effect high pressure laminate on each side. The internal room side is faced with Polyrey’s B101 Banian Noirci, whereas the external hallway side is faced with Formica’s F5374 Elegant Oak. The primed frame was painted white on-site. Ahmarra is FSC® certified (FSC C018847), which means this doorset supports responsible forestry.
