Fire doors play a vital part in any building’s passive fire protection system. What is a Fire Door Keep Shut Sign For?

All internal fire doors, in order to compartmentalise a fire, must be kept shut. As such, all non-locking fire doors – which account for most doors within a public building – must be fitted with a closer and feature a ‘Fire Door Keep Shut’ sign on both sides. The sign acts as a reminder not to prop the doors open.
