Contractor: CLC Group
Client: Local Council
Type of works: Manufacture & Install of FD30 Fire Doors

Ahmarra manufactured and installed Q-Mark certified fire doorsets for a local Council’s civic offices. The internal doorsets were manufactured for the building’s offices and stair ways.

Manufactured from sustainable FSC® certified timber, these glazed fire doors were faced with sapele crown cut vertical grain wood veneer with a dark fumed oak stain. The frames were also manufactured from sapele, but were lacquered rather than stained, offering contrast against the doors. These severe-duty doorsets were designed for areas with heavy footfall, and as such, feature stainless steel protection plates and sapele concealed lippings on all four edges for longevity.

The doors feature three Q-Mark fire door identification plugs, which are colour coded to indicate the status of certification. As all of the doors are FD30 fire-rated the outer colour of the plug is yellow, which indicates that the door will resist the passage of fire for a minimum of 30 minutes.  The top plug features a silver coloured tree insert. This indicates that the doorsets were supplied as a complete unit, which means that the door leaf is pre-hung in its frame, with hinges, glazing systems, fire & smoke seals and ironmongery fitted at our factory. Ahmarra heavily endorse this approach, as procuring all essential components from a single certified source will help ensure full compliance with fire safety and building regulations.

The middle plug features an orange coloured tree insert. This indicates that the glazing (vision panels) have been correctly specified and fitted to the door leaf by a Q-Mark certified fire door manufacturer.

The bottom plug features a gold coloured tree insert. This indicates that the door has been installed under the supervision of a Q-Mark Approved Installer.

Ahmarra were sub-contracted by CLC Group to manufacture and install these internal doors, having worked on a number of school, council housing, retirement home and ministry of defence projects together throughout Hampshire over the past few years.

The doors were fitted by both Ahmarra and CLC Group’s Installation teams. Our team are CHAS Contractors’ Health And Safety scheme and SafeContractor accredited, and all of our installers hold a valid CSCS card.
