Ahmarra recently installed a HOMAG edge banding machine at our modern, Hampshire-based fire door manufacturing facility. The new HOMAG EDGETEQ S-500 profiLine, which is one of several investments made this year, gives the capability of applying solid timber lippings on doors of up to 80mm thick which is necessary due to the increase in demand for doors with extended fire resistance and higher acoustic ratings.
All of our doors have lippings applied on all four edges as standard. The optimum edge quality reduces the potential for damage and moisture ingress, and adds to the over all aesthetic appeal of our finished products.
The machine’s extensive range of configuration options means that it can be programmed to meet our client’s exact specifications for their fully customised fire doors, no matter what kind of facings or finishes they choose. Thanks to the edge bander’s innovative engineering and award-winning industrial design, it has very low energy requirements, which supports our policy of minimising the impact we have on the environment.
Increased reliability, efficiency and precision in edge processing will enable our skilled team to reduce lead time and support our expansion plans.
